Democrats Criticize WSJ Report on Biden’s Mental Stability

Democrats are up in arms over a Wall Street Journal report that delved into President Joe Biden’s alleged private mental instability. Titled “Behind Closed Doors, Biden Shows Signs of Slipping,” the article, co-written by Annie Linskey, sparked a firestorm of criticism from Democrats who felt their perspectives were sidelined.

On X, Linskey summarized the article, noting instances where the 81-year-old president allegedly underperformed during meetings. While the White House maintains Biden’s sharpness and dismisses criticisms as partisan attacks, the report referenced input from both Republicans and Democrats who interacted with Biden privately in recent months.

“Furious Democrats lambasted the news outlet on X,” accusing it of disregarding their testimony and focusing instead on Republican critiques, Rep. Nancy Pelosi stated. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer echoed these sentiments, asserting that the article purposefully omitted his positive experiences with Biden.

White House officials attempted to discredit the article, highlighting comments from Democrats whose input was allegedly ignored. Despite efforts to counter the narrative, the report continues to stir controversy, with former Republican congressman Joe Scarborough expressing exasperation on his MSNBC show “Morning Joe.”

As discussions around Biden’s mental acuity persist, the president’s age, 81, adds another layer of scrutiny, especially considering the possibility of seeking reelection at the age of 86.
