Workplace Raids Return Under Trump’s Border Czar

Tom Homan, named as President Donald Trump’s “border czar” on Sunday, pledged Monday to revive workplace raids to combat illegal immigration and trafficking. Homan, a former ICE director, said these raids are vital to protecting victims and enforcing immigration laws.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, Homan explained that many trafficking victims are discovered at illegal worksites. “Worksites are often where forced labor and sex trafficking victims are found,” he said.

Homan also accused the Biden administration of mishandling child smuggling cases, claiming over 300,000 children smuggled by cartels remain unaccounted for. He criticized current policies for allowing cartels to exploit the border.

Sanctuary cities are a key focus of Homan’s enforcement strategy. He made it clear that federal agents would operate in these cities regardless of local government cooperation. “We’ll increase our presence as needed to enforce the law,” he stated.

Activists have pushed back against Homan’s approach, accusing him of unfairly targeting vulnerable populations. However, he maintains that his policies are aimed at dismantling criminal networks and protecting victims.

Homan’s appointment reinforces Trump’s commitment to strict border security, with workplace raids and aggressive enforcement measures at the center of his strategy. These policies are set to reignite national debates on immigration.
