President Donald Trump is surging in the battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday. Trump now leads Vice President Kamala Harris in both states, positioning him well as the 2024 election nears.
In Michigan, Trump has moved up three percentage points from a previous poll, leading with 50% support compared to Harris’ 47%. Wisconsin voters also favor Trump, with the former president holding 48% to Harris’ 46%. Pennsylvania remains more competitive, where Harris narrowly leads Trump 49% to 46%.

On nearly every major issue, including the economy, immigration and foreign affairs, Trump outscored Harris. In Michigan, 54% of voters said Trump would handle the economy better than Harris, who received 45%. Wisconsin voters had similar opinions, with Trump leading Harris on immigration, crisis management and national security.
Despite intense media coverage surrounding her recent debate performance, Harris has not experienced a post-debate boost in the polls. Voters are increasingly viewing Trump as the stronger candidate, particularly on key issues that matter to voters in battleground states.

Additionally, mail-in voting among Democrats in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania has declined, suggesting waning enthusiasm for Harris’ campaign. As Trump continues to gain ground, Harris faces mounting pressure to turn the tide in these critical states.
