Trump Backs Texas, Vows To Work With Border States To ‘Stop The Invasion’

Former president and current GOP primary frontrunner Donald Trump has expressed support for Texas in its ongoing fight with the Biden administration over border security, joining the growing number of Republican leaders who have backed the state’s efforts to secure the southern border.

In this escalating battle, the Biden administration has consistently facilitated illegal immigration and human smuggling while Texas has taken numerous actions to increase border security. President Joe Biden’s open border policies include ordering U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents to remove Texas’ razor wire border barrier and release millions of illegal aliens into the U.S. interior, while Texas has continued installing new barriers, deploying Texas National Guard members to the border and even begun arresting illegal aliens for trespassing.

Every step of the way, the Biden administration has sued Texas for its border security efforts, while Texas has filed several lawsuits against the administration for its illegal actions in facilitating illegal immigration.

After the U.S. Supreme Court issued a temporary ruling that allowed the Biden administration to continue destroying Texas’ razor wire border barrier, Texas has ramped up its installation of the razor wire and vowed to continue securing the border. In response, 25 Republican governors have signed on to a letter supporting Texas’ resistance.

On Thursday, Trump joined these Republican leaders in expressing support for Texas. He also called on other Republican states to send their National Guards to Texas to help battle the border crisis, while vowing to work with border states to stop the invasion if he wins the November presidential election.

“Joe Biden has surrendered our Border, and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States,” Trump wrote in a lengthy statement. “Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the Invasion continues unchecked. In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution, and must be given full support to repel the Invasion.”

“We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border,” he added. “All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people. When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion, Seal the Border, and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History. Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home.”
