Trump Accuses ABC Moderators Of Bias: ‘3 On 1’ During Debate

During the first 2024 presidential debate, President Donald Trump accused ABC News moderators of teaming up against him, creating a “three on one” situation. Trump, joined on stage by Vice President Kamala Harris, took to Truth Social after the debate, stating, “three on one,” a reference to the moderators’ repeated fact-checks of him while allowing Harris to go unchecked.

Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis fact-checked Trump on various claims, such as his statements about post-birth executions in some states and Haitian immigrants in Ohio eating pets. In contrast, they let Harris’ misstatements, including her incorrect claim about Trump’s stance on in vitro fertilization, slide without correction.

Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., also weighed in, calling out the moderators on X (formerly Twitter) for what many saw as an unfair advantage given to Harris. The apparent bias in fact-checking led to widespread frustration from conservative viewers, who felt that Harris was protected from scrutiny.

Throughout the debate, Harris accused Trump of being a threat to democracy and brought up debunked claims about his comments on Charlottesville and American servicemembers. Yet, these statements were met with no challenges from the moderators.

The debate, held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, left many wondering if future debates will feature the same uneven treatment. Trump supporters are already rallying behind his claims of media bias as the 2024 election cycle heats up.
