Former National Football League (NFL) quarterback Tim Tebow recently testified before Congress over the horrors of human trafficking and discussed strategies to end child exploitation worldwide.
Tebow visited Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., where he proposed legislation “to enhance the capability to identify and locate the more than 50,000 unidentified children” who are being mistreated by human traffickers.
“To sum it up, we strive to fight for people who can’t fight for themselves,” Tebow said.
While speaking before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance, the former NFL star discussed that there needs to be more regulations to reduce the amount of lewd content online involving children.
One America News (OAN) pointed out that Tebow even became emotional during his introductory remarks while reading a letter that a victim of human trafficking had personally written to him.
“Rescue me. Help me. Monsters are chasing. Can’t you see? Monsters are whispering. Can’t you hear? Monsters are shouting you are nothing. Can’t you feel my pain? Monsters are pushing. End it all. Just jump. Monsters are laughing: You’re all alone in this. Can someone please rescue me?” the letter states.
Tebow called on congressional lawmakers to support and approve legislation to establish a rescue squad, which will be tasked with finding and rescuing children who are being controlled and manipulated by human traffickers. The former NFL star pressured lawmakers to act on the devastating issue instead of just speaking about it.
“But if all we do today is speak, all I do is speak, I also missed the mark. We have to do more than just talk about it. We have to act on it and be about it,” Tebow said.

Notably, Tebow is the founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation — a Christian organization that works to protect children who have suffered from human trafficking. The foundation’s website points out that every second, more than 100 disturbing images involving children are spread across the internet.
In August 2023, Tebow launched a campaign to fight the human trafficking industry, which is worth $150 billion.
The former NFL quarterback said he believes it is “a calling” for him to help innocent victims of human trafficking and child exploitation.
