Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley announced that the party’s Protect the Vote initiative has surpassed its initial goal of recruiting 100,000 volunteers, with over 157,000 individuals now registered nationwide. The surge in volunteers marks a significant milestone for the RNC’s efforts to ensure the integrity of the upcoming November elections.
The Protect the Vote initiative is a key component of the RNC’s broader election integrity strategy, which aims to prevent irregularities and ensure that every vote accurately reflects the will of the American people. Whatley, along with RNC co-chair Lara Trump, has been at the forefront of this initiative, emphasizing the importance of having trained poll workers and observers present at polling locations across the country.
In June, Lara Trump highlighted the RNC’s ambitious plans to build a robust network of volunteers tasked with safeguarding election integrity. “If we don’t have free, fair, and transparent elections, nothing else matters,” she stated. The initiative, which includes poll watchers, poll workers, and attorneys stationed at major polling locations, is designed to proactively address any issues that may arise during the voting process.
Whatley, during an exclusive interview with Maria Bartiromo, stressed the importance of having a presence at polling places. “The second component for election integrity is you got to be in the room,” he said, underscoring the need for trained individuals to oversee the election process.
The RNC has also launched a dedicated website—protectthevote.com—where interested individuals can sign up to receive training tailored to their state’s specific requirements. With 87 days remaining until the election, the RNC plans to continue expanding its volunteer base, aiming to create the most robust national election integrity program in the country’s history.
