A media network funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros is ramping up efforts in Nevada, using its local news outlet to spread anti-Trump messaging disguised as local journalism. The Nevadan, a site run by Courier Newsroom, has been saturating social media with stories designed to boost Democrats and criticize Republicans ahead of crucial elections.
Courier Newsroom was founded by Democrat operative Tara McGowan and claims to focus on countering misinformation. However, critics argue its real goal is to push partisan content while appearing to be a neutral news source. NewsGuard has labeled the network a “clandestine political operation” meant to deceive voters.
One of the misleading narratives promoted by The Nevadan is that President Donald Trump plans to bring back a military draft, despite Trump directly refuting this claim. The story, widely shared through targeted Facebook ads, highlights how the site uses sensational claims to sway undecided voters.
The site is part of a larger network operating in swing states, all funded by Soros and other left-leaning donors. Soros’s Open Society Foundations reportedly funneled $20 million into the operation, helping Courier to spread its messaging across key battlegrounds. Critics are concerned about the impact this kind of stealth campaigning could have on future elections, with voters unknowingly consuming biased content.
