Allyson Phillips, the mother of 22-year-old Laken Riley, who was recently murdered by an illegal migrant, has spoken about the “avoidable tragedy” of her death on Facebook.
Riley, a nursing student at the University of Georgia, was murdered while out for a jog on the university campus. She was reported missing shortly after noon on Thursday, Feb. 22, and her body was found around half an hour later. Her cause of death was blunt force trauma with an unidentified object.
Shortly afterward, the police apprehended Jose Ibarra, 26, who is an illegal immigrant from Venezuela. He was released into the country on parole after being captured by border control. Ibarra was arrested for endangering a child and riding a motorized scooter without a license in New York, and for shoplifting in Georgia. Despite being in the country illegally and committing multiple crimes, he was not deported and immediately released in both cases.
Laken’s mother posted the following on Facebook Saturday:
“As I sat down to write this message, I really just have no words. My family has faced the most devastating, unimaginable loss that anyone could ever be force [sic] to endure. I would like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for being with me and my family during this heartbreaking time. I encourage everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I give Him all the glory for getting us through this. It would be really easy to lose our faith in mankind because of this senseless and avoidable tragedy.”
Phillips goes on to give her heartfelt thanks to all of those giving support to her family in the wake of the tragedy.
Riley has become the face of a string of violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants across the country in recent weeks.
People are dying as a result of Joe Biden’s lawlessness.

As things stand, more and more people are being released into the U.S. without documentation, background checks, or any way of telling whether they are violent criminals. With border security a hot topic for America right now, Riley’s death is a painful reminder of what’s at stake with the Democrats’ open and unsecured borders.
