Melania Trump Says Barron Was Denied Bank Account Over Political Affiliation

Former First Lady Melania Trump has revealed that her son, Barron, was denied a bank account due to the family’s political affiliation. In her biography Melania, released Tuesday, she detailed how their long-time bank terminated her account and refused Barron’s request to open a new one. This incident occurred shortly after the U.S. Capitol events on January 6, 2021.

Melania described the decision as politically motivated, labeling it an example of “cancel culture” and raising concerns about the fairness of such actions. She argued that financial services should not be denied based on political beliefs, suggesting that this could be a violation of civil rights.

The former First Lady also shared that her business ventures have suffered due to political bias. She revealed that a private equity group pulled its support for one of her media projects because of personal animosity toward President Donald Trump. This decision came despite prior agreements, leaving her project at a standstill.

Melania also touched on her “Fostering the Future” scholarship program for foster children. She recounted how a leading tech-education company abruptly ended its partnership with her after her name became associated with the project, despite her efforts to focus solely on children’s education.

In a more positive update, Melania shared that Barron, now 18, has adjusted well to college life. He is currently attending New York University’s Stern School of Business. Despite the challenges, she said Barron is thriving and enjoying his classes in New York City.
