Homan Pushes Congress To Fund Trump’s Massive Deportation Plan

President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming border czar, Tom Homan, has called on Congress to approve funding for a large-scale deportation operation. Speaking on CNN, Homan outlined his request for resources, including 100,000 beds to detain migrants targeted for removal.

“We need Congress to give us some money to get this done,” Homan said, adding that the exact budget is still uncertain. He emphasized that more resources would allow for expanded enforcement actions and increased deportation capacity.

Homan described the plan as aligning with voter expectations, citing Trump’s election as evidence of public support for stricter immigration policies. “The more deportation officers I have, the more migrants we can detain and deport,” he said.

The operation, expected to cost at least $86 billion, involves Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers conducting nationwide actions beginning on Jan. 20, Trump’s first day in office. Homan also proposed using military aircraft to deport individuals but noted that the military would not participate in arrests.

Trump has vowed to hold foreign governments accountable for accepting deportees, threatening to cut economic ties with nations that refuse. Homan echoed this position, urging Congress to provide funding to support the administration’s goals.

Homan’s appointment follows years of involvement in immigration enforcement, including testimony before Congress on policy challenges under the Biden administration.
