Harris And Stein Nearly Even Among Muslim Voters, Poll Finds

A new poll from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reveals a close race between Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Green Party candidate Jill Stein among Muslim voters. According to the poll, Harris has the support of 41% of Muslim voters, while Stein leads slightly with 42%.

President Donald Trump holds the support of 10% of Muslim voters, with an additional 5.4% saying they won’t vote, and 0.6% favoring Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver. The poll, conducted from October 30 to October 31, surveyed 1,449 verified Muslim voters and carries a margin of error of +/-2.5%.

CAIR’s National Executive Director Nihad Awad emphasized that the poll shows significant interest in this election within the Muslim community, with 95% planning to vote. Awad noted that U.S. policies toward Gaza are influencing Muslim voters, stating that this issue is a “major factor in voter preferences.”

Stein’s running mate, Butch Ware, may also be drawing support from Muslim voters. Ware, a Black Muslim history professor at the University of California Santa Barbara, is known for his opposition to Zionism, calling it a “white supremacist” movement. Stein announced Ware as her vice-presidential pick in August.

CAIR encouraged Muslim voters to participate fully in the election, regardless of whom they support, urging them to make their voices heard on Election Day. The close numbers between Harris and Stein highlight the unique dynamics within this voter demographic as November approaches.
