Fani Willis Instructs Ex-Lover To Stay Silent In House Committee Deposition

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has directed her former top prosecutor and ex-lover Nathan Wade to avoid answering questions during a deposition with the House Judiciary Committee. Wade, who played a central role in the prosecution of President Donald Trump for alleged election interference, has been instructed to assert legal protections to prevent disclosing sensitive information.

Willis wrote to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the committee’s chairman, explaining that allowing Wade to testify could lead to the exposure of confidential details from ongoing prosecutions. Wade was primarily assigned to Trump’s case, which has faced legal setbacks and public scrutiny.

The House Judiciary Committee is investigating whether Willis misused over $14.6 million in Department of Justice grant funds between 2020 and 2023. The timing of the grants has led to suspicions about whether federal funds were used to prosecute Trump.

Earlier this year, Wade resigned from the Trump case after a judge ruled that his romantic relationship with Willis, while not a direct conflict, gave the “appearance of impropriety.” The close nature of their relationship and the over 2,000 phone calls they exchanged before the relationship became public have only added to the controversy.

Trump’s legal team argues that the prosecution is politically motivated, designed to block him from running for president in 2024. As the House investigation continues, the committee seeks answers on whether Willis’s office acted improperly while handling the Trump case.
