Biden Resists Independent Health Evaluation Amid Growing Concerns

President Joe Biden has refused to commit to an independent medical evaluation of his cognitive and neurological health, even as calls from within his own party intensify. In a Friday interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Biden addressed concerns following a poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump.

At 81, Biden sought to reassure viewers of his health, claiming his doctors attributed his debate performance to exhaustion. “I’m still in good shape,” he said. “I have an ongoing assessment of what I’m doing, and they don’t hesitate to tell me if they think there’s something wrong.”

When questioned about undergoing a full neurological and cognitive evaluation, Biden stated, “I get a full neurological test every day” through his responsibilities as president. He noted that his doctors had not advised specific cognitive tests performed by a neurologist, saying, “No one said I had to. No one said. They said I’m good.”

Stephanopoulos then asked if Biden would agree to an independent medical evaluation and make the results public. Biden deflected, asserting, “I have a cognitive test every single day. Every day I have that test. Everything I do. You know, not only am I campaigning, but I’m running the world.”

Despite repeated questions, Biden remained non-committal about an independent assessment, instead urging the public to judge his capabilities through his campaign performance. “Watch me between– there’s a lotta time left in this campaign. There’s over 125 days. They’ll make a decision,” he remarked.

As concerns about his cognitive abilities grow, Biden’s refusal to undergo an independent evaluation has become a significant issue within his reelection campaign. His insistence that he is fit for office has not quelled the rising demands for transparency regarding his health.
