The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are set to become a battleground for cutting-edge artificial intelligence as organizers deploy AI-driven solutions to combat an unprecedented wave of cyber attacks. With the event expected to attract countless cybercriminal organizations, each with its own agenda, AI will be used on both sides of the cyber defense line.
France has partnered with Blackbird.AI, utilizing its Constellation platform to identify and analyze narratives stemming from disinformation or fake news. This AI-powered tool will provide Olympic security teams with critical support for rapid, data-driven decision-making in the face of increasingly sophisticated threats.

However, malicious actors are also expected to leverage AI technologies to spread misinformation and disrupt the games. Deepfakes, such as the recently discovered Tom Cruise impersonation claiming corruption within the International Olympic Committee, pose a significant challenge for security teams tasked with separating fact from fiction.

Blackbird.AI has already identified several alarming narratives targeting France and the IOC, including campaigns calling for a boycott of the Olympics, allegations of discrimination, and claims of officials ruining the event. These narratives, often amplified through social media hashtags and online petitions, aim to damage France’s reputation and undermine its ability to host the world-renowned event.
