After Losing Reelection Bid, Cori Bush Lashes Out At AIPAC

In a surprising turn of events, U.S. Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) has found herself on the losing side of her primary election. The left-wing member of the “Squad” was defeated by St. Louis County District Attorney Wesley Bell, and her response has been anything but gracious.

Following her loss, Bush unleashed a scathing attack on the pro-Israel political action committee (PAC) AIPAC, which had supported her opponent. “AIPAC, I’m coming to tear your kingdom down!” she vowed, as the crowd cheered. Bush claimed that her defeat has “radicalized” her and that those who supported her opponent should “be afraid.”

“There is nothing that happens in my life that happens in vain. So, this happened because it was meant to happen. And let me say, it’s because of the work that I need to do,” Bush proclaimed.

The two-term lawmaker’s defeat marks the second time a member of the “Squad” has been ousted, following Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s (D-NY) loss last month.

“They’re about to see this other Cori, this other side,” Bush warned, hinting at a more confrontational approach in her post-congressional life.
